Short: AGA talking head recognizes spoken voice commands
Type: util/misc
This is version 5.0 of AniMan which allows you to converse with an
animated talking head through your audio digitizer in order to execute
CLI commands, ARexx commands, or ARexx scripts by voice command. AniMan is
designed to work with the Perfect Sound 3, Audio Master (Audio Magic), and
Generic audio digitizers. AniMan is completely multitasking and will run
in the background, continuously listening for your voice command. With
AniMan you can launch multiple applications or control any program with an
ARexx capability by conversation with an animated talking head. This new
version of AniMan runs in full color on the 3.0 Workbench screen within a
miniature window. A Workbench screen with a minimum of 64 colors is
required for the best animation results. In keeping with the many new
display options provided by AGA, AniMan will now automatically configure to
a wide range of display modes and monitors.
Copy the included voice.library (version 6.6) to libs: before running
AniMan. If you have been using an earlier version of voice.library, be sure
that it has been been flushed from memory either by rebooting your Amiga or
by typing "avail flush" in the CLI.
Also, AniMan 5.0 uses the 2.04 versions of the translator.library and
narrator.device. Unaccountably, Commodore did not include these important
resources in the 3.0 system release. You can correct this shortcoming if
you own an Amiga 2.04 Workbench disk. Copy the devs:narrator.device from
the 2.04 Workbench disk WHICH YOU OWN to your devs: directory, and copy the
libs:translator.library to your libs: directory. If you don't own a 2.04
Workbench disk, you can purchase one from your dealer at a small cost.
